A Day On The Green - Simply Red Farwell ~ The Final Tour OCT W/E

Simply Red will play their very last concert as a day on the green winery event at Bimbadgen Estate, Hunter Valley on Saturday October 2 (the Labour Day long weekend). The tour’s very special guest will be Australia’s favourite Queen of Soul and disco diva Marcia Hines, with rock legend Ross Wilson kicking off the day.

Opera in the Vineyards

With "Opera in the Vineyards" now a much loved annual Hunter Valley Event, some of Australia’s leading opera performers will mount the outdoor stage and share with you their magnificent talent in a natural amphitheatre amongst the Hunter Valley vines.

The histroric Wyndham Estate vineyard, situated on the banks of the Hunter River, will welcome guests from 2pm for a food & wine fair, and later from 6.30pm for the concert experience.

Jazz in the Vines

Jazz in the Vines has long been renowned for it’s laid back atmosphere, food and wine indulgence and great music appealing to all ages.

Unlike any other Jazz concert in Australia, Jazz in the Vines is more a picnic with good friends, sensational food and memorable Hunter Valley wines all set against a stunning backdrop of the Brokenback Mountains.

World Renowned wineries Tyrrells, Draytons, Tamburlaine, Bimbadgen Estate, and the Hunter Valley Wine Society, will all be there on the day with wine by the bottle.

 

CHICAGO, AMERICA & PETER FRAMPTON SAT 06 NOVEMBER

Grammy Award winning group, America, who are celebrating their 40th anniversary as a band this year are excited to perform a mix of greatest hits, such as A Horse With No Name, Sister Golden Hair and You Can Do Magic plus selected songs from their plethora of recorded music for their Australian fans.
"We are excited to be returning once again to Australia, one of our all-time favorite places to play! Touring with our old friends, Chicago and Peter Frampton. We are presently celebrating our 40th Anniversary as "America" and the show will highlight songs from our 1st album to the present, and where possible include an acoustic set and video enhancement. We will perform all of our greatest hits, as well as selected songs from our forty years of recorded albums. We look forward to bringing our music back to Australia this year!" America

Chicago will headline alongside America who topped the US single charts throughout the 1970's, selling over 120 million albums worldwide. Chicago will play all their hits at their Australian shows including If You Leave Me Now, Saturday In The Park and Just You N Me.

Also touring in Australia with America and Chicago is the legendary Peter Frampton who remains one of the most celebrated artists and guitarists in rock history. Fans can look forward to hearing Frampton's biggest hits such as, Baby I Love Your Way, Show Me The Way and Do You Feel Like I Do. Peter Frampton releases his new album, Thank You Mr Churchill in Australia on the 9th July through Shock Records. Thank You Mr Churchill is Frampton's first collection since his innovative Grammy-winning instrumental album, Fingerprints.

A Day on the Green - BLONDIE AND THE PRETENDERS SAT 11 DECEMBER

They’re two of music’s most acclaimed bands boasting two of music’s most compelling front women – Deborah Harry leading the wondrous Blondie and Chrissie Hynde fronting the mighty Pretenders.

As a double-bill, it’s a world first! It’s also an absolute cracker and that’s exactly what fans can savour when Blondie & The Pretenders co-headline a November/December tour of ‘a day on the green’ winery shows in all states and, in conjunction with Frontier Touring, theatre shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra.

This very special double header launches the 2010/2011 ‘a day on the green’ season, the event’s 10th anniversary. A bumper summer of concerts are planned to celebrate this significant milestone, so let’s get the partee started!
